It is with immense gratitude, astonishment and emotion that we want to thank all the donors who in just 10 days have allowed us to reach and exceed our goal!
The corridors among the bases are fixed, but the works at our field do not end there! Now we have to take care of the most "shining" part – aka: expensive :-) - of the diamond, the infield area in red dirt with a draining substrate.
It is the main area of the baseball field, where about 70% of the actions take place, where the infielders show their best qualities with beautiful actions and where most of the hittings arrive! In short, the place where the fun happens!
Now our new goal is to reach € 12,000 to cover part of the total € 38,000 we need for the construction of the drainage substrate, supply and laying of the red dirt.
This allows to play even after it has rained, because the water flows into the ground and preserves the playing surface!
Due to Covid, we have stopped for too long and when we’ll start playing again we don't want to stop anymore!

THANK YOU!Since 1990 San Lazzaro 90 Baseball Club is helping children age 5 to 18 grow in the values of sport and friendship through the game of baseball. The numbers of athletes and teams has continued to grow and led us reach the Serie B championship two years ago.
Since 2020, Covid has limited - but not stopped, albeit with great difficulty - our activities and we hope that, also thanks to your contribution, 2021 will be a year of real restart.
Our field is not just a place where children train and play: it is a real MAGNET for their moments of aggregation, sharing and growth.
Our field is located inside the "Parco della Resistenza" in San Lazzaro di Savena (Bologna, Italy). After 30 years of joyful activities and maintenance on a volunteer basis (thanks to the help of athletes themselves, parents, staff, coaches), our field needs a renovation by a professional company.
This will allow us to make our field a safe and adequate place where children can train, be together and play the wonderful game of baseball.
Works on the field have already started at the end of February 2021 and include 3 areas of intervention:
The goal of our campaign is to raise € 7,000 to finance the renovation of the corridors of the three bases that mark the red dirt diamond -where the heart of the game takes place - through removal of superficial turf and restoration, laying and leveling of red dirt.
