Can a day of music really make a difference?
We believe it can.

Every day we read news stories about women who have experienced violence. We feel outraged, we comment, we share. Then life goes on, and those stories gradually fade from our attention. But violence does not begin overnight. It starts much earlier, with warning signs that are often ignored, with silence, fear, and the belief that "it's not really that serious". We want to intervene at that very point.

That is why, on 5 September 2026, during the Rock Camp Festival in Prepotto (Duino Aurisina, Trieste), we will be hosting a special event that brings together what we do best - music - with something we believe is even more important: providing people with the knowledge, practical tools and awareness they need.

The morning will be dedicated to prevention: Officers from the Italian State Police will explain what really happens when a woman finds the courage to ask for help. Psychologists and other professionals will help participants recognise behaviours that are often dismissed or underestimated, but which can be the first warning signs of an abusive relationship. Alongside qualified self-defence instructors, participants will also learn simple, practical techniques that can be used in everyday situations. We will also be joined by GOAP – Trieste Anti-Violence Centre, which provides daily support to women experiencing violence, offering professional expertise, a listening ear and practical assistance.  Throughout the day, we will also distribute pepper spray while explaining how to use it correctly. It is a useful tool, but only when accompanied by proper knowledge and training. We will also be speaking to young men and boys, because respect, education and awareness are everyone's responsibility. Change cannot rest on women's shoulders alone.

Then the music begins: From the afternoon until midnight, the stage will be entirely dedicated to rock and metal bands with female lead vocalists. This is not a random choice - it is a statement. We want to give women a platform, celebrate their talent, and demonstrate just how powerful their voices can be, both on stage and in society.

All of this will take place in the beautiful natural surroundings of the Trieste Karst, with great food, good beer, friendship and the joy of spending time together. Because talking about important issues does not mean giving up moments of enjoyment. It means creating a place where people can meet, listen, learn, and feel part of the same community.

Why we need your support

Organising a day like this requires far more than a stage and a few concerts. It takes experienced professionals, properly equipped spaces, security, sound and lighting systems, essential services, logistics, coordination, and a venue capable of welcoming everyone safely.

Our goal is to raise €7,500, which will cover the costs of the entire event and help keep it as accessible as possible. Every euro raised will help turn this idea into reality.

For us, success will not simply be measured only and exclusively by the number of people standing in front of the stage. It will be the young woman who recognises a dangerous situation before it is too late. It will be the woman who finds the courage to ask for help. It will be the young man who leaves with a deeper understanding of the importance of respect. If even one of these things happens, then everything we have done will have been worthwhile.

Who we are

We are Rock Out X Project, a social promotion association based in Trieste.

For almost ten years, we have organised concerts, festivals, workshops and cultural initiatives with a strong commitment to our local community. Together with our volunteers, the Rock Believers, we have given more than one hundred artists the opportunity to perform and have worked alongside public bodies, charities and local organisations, creating opportunities for people to come together through music. Now in its seventh edition, the Rock Camp Festival is our flagship project. This year, we have chosen to dedicate an entire day to women by combining live music with prevention and awareness in a single event.

We believe music can do far more than entertain. It can bring people together. It can give people courage. It can start conversations that are too often postponed. And sometimes, it can even change someone's story.
